The Wanderlust Outdoor Activities team continues the Wanderlust Peaks Project with one of the most iconic peaks of Roumeli: Gerontovrahos. On Sunday, October 26th, 2025, we climb a summit that combines mythical aura with otherworldly natural beauty.

🔶 Mythology and History on the Mountain of Apollo

Mount Parnassos was the sacred mountain of Apollo and the Muses, while according to mythology, Deucalion and Pyrrha found refuge on its slopes after the Great Flood. Gerontovrahos dominates the mountain mass with its solid presence, reminding visitors of the “elder of the mountain,” the watchful guardian of Parnassos. Its landscape radiates a primordial gravity that fascinates every hiker.
