Hiking from Ostrakina Peak to Levidi Mt.Maenalo

On Sunday 11/05 we will be in the heart of Mainalo Mt. hiking a mountain route from the Mainalo mountain refuge to the Ostrakina peak and from there descending to the village of Levidi on a multi-level path among fir trees!

The starting point will be from the Mainalo mountain refuge and an ascent to the Ostrakina peak at 1981 m, the highest peak of Mainalo.

Then from the same route we will descend to the refuge and from there our downhill course to the village of Levidi will begin.

The slope of the path is steadily downhill and initially we will move through meadows where the landscape is open.

Then we will move through a large ravine overgrown with fir trees where the field becomes quite rocky.

From the forest path we exit onto a dirt road and pass by the old stone quarry with the final destination being the central square of Levidi.

Participants should be in moderate physical condition, with no recent injury.

Hiking boots/shoes and trekking poles is a mandatory gear.
