Hiking from Elati to Vytina

On Sunday 19/01 we will hike from Elati to Vytina in Arcadia! A wonderful path of the Menalon trail in the fir trees with many springs and the Mylaonda river!

The route descends from Elati to the river bed where it meets the coastal path.

Following the well-marked trail (sometimes cobbled and sometimes a simple path) we pass by the large water pumping station at the Pyrgaki Springs (which waters Vytina) and then the stone-built fountain of Makrinos.

A short path brings us to asphalt which we leave to pass under the provincial road of Vytina-Dimitsana (we wade through the stream and pass under the small bridge) and take the nice, old mule road of Vytina.

This section is the richest of the route: we move upstream of Mylaiontas in high riparian vegetation of sycamores and we will come across the ruins of three watermills in succession.

After the wooden bridge over the Barba stream, we climb a nice carved path that brings us to the Artotsis fountain and through various streets we will enter the beautiful Vytina!

Lunch will follow in Nymphasia at the village tavern! Those who want a Vegan option will enjoy the wonderful mushroom soup and more. Please mention the Vegan option as a comment when registering.

Participants should be in moderate physical condition, with no recent injury.
